In a sweeping victory, earning 33% of the popular vote in a field of 17 candidates, Brooklyn City Councilman and original member of NYPAN Jumaane Williams is New York City’s next Public Advocate. Jumaane has championed the voiceless since before he was in office, and it’s no surprise that 1 in 3 city voters pulled the lever for this activist representative and hero of the people.
