Many progressives, and even ordinary registered Democratic voters, are rightfully struggling with how, or even if, they should vote in the upcoming Democratic Presidential Primary.  While there is legitimate anger at the administration’s complicity in genocide in Gaza, there is also the fear of a return of Trump, with the very real prospect of the end of American Democracy as we know it.

President Biden has already secured enough delegates to be nominated to run for a second term. Unlike in Michigan & Minnesota, where voters had a ballot choice of “uncommitted” convention delegates, or ordinary elections where a write-in candidate is possible, no such options are available on the NY ballot. So why even take the trouble to vote?

Because we can express our disapproval of Biden’s continued support for the Palestinian genocide by casting a BLANK BALLOT. Voting a blank ballot is totally valid, as the voting machines in current use will accept it and the various Election Boards must record and report all such ballots. The greater number and percent of blank ballots, the louder the statement.

Voting blank in no way aids Trump.  Indeed, with Biden trailing Trump in most polls due to the disaffection of young, POC and progressive voters who may not show up to vote in November, encouraging these reluctant voters to participate in the process NOW by casting a ballot which expresses their strong feelings on the GAZA issue, while encouraging Biden to change his policy and unify his crucial voting base, HELPS BIDEN reverse this dangerous dynamic.
