Demand NYS Fund Climate in 2025

Sign the petition to call on oil companies to once again reject any bids for drilling in The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and pledge to leave this irreplaceable wilderness untouched.

While carbon capture is often promoted as a tool to fight climate change, the process is highly energy-intensive, requiring significant amounts of fossil fuels. In fact, most captured carbon ends up being used to extract more oil—a practice that only increases overall emissions. Sign the petition to tell the Washington Post that carbon capture is not a climate commitment.

Climate change is a global challenge that demands evidence-based solutions. Suppressing or skewing data to align with political agendas will not change the reality of rising temperatures, melting polar ice, and extreme weather events. Sign the petition calling on Donald Trump to respect the independence of scientific institutions and let scientists do their jobs.

Petition your members of Congress: No cuts to Medicaid - especially not to support tax cuts for the rich!

The incoming Trump administration and Republican majority in Congress pose grave threats to our already broken health care system. In anticipation of ICE raids and repression, the ACLU and NYCLU websites have some resources to help answer questions and quell anxiety with at least the illusion of some control. There’s actually an exception clause in the Thirteenth Amendment that allows slavery and involuntary servitude as punishment for crime. Today, more than 150 years since its passage, incarcerated people, many of whom are Black and brown, are forced to work for little or no pay - like the brave men and women fighting the California fires. Enough! Sign the petition to STOP the forced labor that incarcerated people are subject to.

In light of the recent and brutal death of Robert Brooks at the hands of correction officers at Marcy Correctional Facility, Governor Hochul and the US Department of Justice must step in to conduct a top to bottom review of physical and mental abuse of those incarcerated in New York State Jails and Prisons. On Jan. 9, the House passed a shameful bill that would sanction individuals who help, assist, or support the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into war crimes by Benjamin Netanayhu and Yoav Gallant.
